Himawari-kai is a nonprofit organization that has served the needs of Japanese community in the Bay Area. Since its establishment in 1971 with the support of International Institute of the East Bay, we have constructed mutually supportive relationships between members and our surrounding communities.

Currently, our group is a part of the International Institute of the Bay Area (IIBA), which is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and provides immigration services in the Bay Area.

We mainly focus on educational, social, and philanthropic activities, while maintaining and enhancing the relationship between members through the publication of newsletters and monthly outreach meetings held either in Alameda or Contra Costa County. We always invite anybody to become part of our organization and join our activities.
